Main Structure and Core Functions of Canned Motor Pumps
A canned motor pump is a specialized type of centrifugal pump primarily designed to transport high-temperature, high-pressure, flammable, and explosive media. Its design integrates safety with high-performance fluid handling.
1. Main Structure (主要结构)
The construction of a canned motor pump consists of several critical components:
Motor and Pump Integration: The unit includes the motor, pump body, impeller, bearings, and sealing devices.
Pump Body Assembly: The casing is composed of a front cover, rear cover, pump housing, and volute. The front and rear covers are secured via bolts, while the pump housing and volute are connected through tenon or butt joints.
Rotating Elements: Inside the pump body, one or more impellers are mounted on a common shaft with the motor’s rotor. This assembly creates the centrifugal force necessary for fluid movement.
Flow Path: The medium is drawn through the suction inlet and propelled through the discharge outlet by the high-speed rotation of the impeller.
2. Core Functions (基本功能)
The primary purpose of a canned motor pump is to transfer media safely from one location to another. Its specific functions include:
Suction (吸入介质): Generates centrifugal force through the rotation of the impeller to draw the medium into the pump body from the inlet.
Pressurization (压缩介质): The impeller accelerates the medium, which is then compressed along the internal tracks of the pump casing, effectively increasing the fluid pressure.
Propulsion (推送介质): The rotational energy pushes the medium out through the discharge port, ensuring it reaches the designated destination.
Flow Regulation (调节流量): Flow rates can be adjusted by modulating the rotational speed of the motor or by installing impellers of different sizes to meet specific operational requirements.
Media Filtration (过滤介质): These pumps can be equipped with auxiliary devices such as filters or sand separators to remove impurities, ensuring the quality and purity of the transported medium.
